Supporters of enhanced passenger rail in every form: light rail, trolley, commuter rail, regional rail and the national passenger rail system, attended the National Rail Passenger Leadership Summit on Friday, March 23, 2007, in Chicago.
As planned, this was a unique working meeting with important presentations and opportunities to work together for a better future for passenger rail in the United States. We heard visions. We shared visions. Now we need to make things happen. Rail passenger advocates from across the country gathered for this historic meeting.
The Summit is a project of grass-roots rail passenger organizations who see reasons to unite our efforts and coordinate our efforts so we can have more success.
Co-sponsors for this event were: Iowa Association of Railroad Passengers, Midwest High Speed Rail Association, Indiana High Speed Rail Association, Texas Association of Rail Passengers and TRAINS Magazine.
